Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Engineered Sentience Technologies ("we", "us") for your use of ChatNano, the desktop app, and this website. By installing or using ChatNano, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. Using ChatNano

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use ChatNano on devices you own or control. You may not sell, rent or redistribute the app, or remove our notices from it.

2. The models

ChatNano's models, Nano Tokyo, Nano Cairo and Nano Oslo, are PrismML's Ternary Bonsai 2 models, which are built from Qwen3.5 by the Qwen team at Alibaba Cloud. We converted them to run in ChatNano without changing their weights. They're available under the Apache License 2.0, and that license, not these terms, governs the model files themselves.

3. Replies can be wrong

ChatNano's models are small, and like all AI models they make mistakes. A reply can be wrong, out of date, incomplete or offensive, however confident it sounds. Check anything that matters with a reliable source. Replies aren't medical, legal, financial or other professional advice, and you shouldn't rely on them for decisions about health, safety, money or the law. You're responsible for how you use what ChatNano writes.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use ChatNano to:

• break the law or help anyone else break it;
• harass, threaten, deceive or harm other people;
• create sexual content involving minors, or content that exploits anyone;
• pass off its replies as written by a person when that would mislead someone;
• reverse engineer or tamper with the app, except where the law allows it.

5. Your content

What you type, say and attach, and the replies you get, are yours. They stay on your computer, and we don't receive them. The Privacy Policy explains this in full.

6. Other services

Models download from Hugging Face, and you may get ChatNano from the Microsoft Store. Those services have their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them.

7. Changes to ChatNano

We may update, change or stop offering ChatNano or any of its models at any time.

8. No warranty

ChatNano is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be accurate, reliable, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of ChatNano or its replies. Our total liability for any claim about ChatNano is limited to the amount you paid for it, if anything. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Nigeria, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. If you keep using ChatNano after a change, you accept the new terms.
